Speech and Debate Take Sweepstakes Again
Sweepstakes goes to Ben Franklin High School for the 3rd time! At St. Augustine High School's December 2nd and 3rd Tournament, the team took 4th and 1st in Student Congress; 3rd in both Advance Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum Debates, 1st and 3rd in Duo Reading; 1st in Duet Acting; 1st and 2nd in Declamation; 2nd and 3rd in Extemporaneous Speaking; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Original Oratory; 1st and 4th in Dramatic Performance;1st and 2nd in Humorous Performance; 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th in Oral Interpretation. Additionally, Yi Shao was named outstanding Speech Competitor and Mr. LaFrance and Ms. Fontenot received the coaches' award.
