Environmental Science - Ecosystem Monitoring Lab

These AP Environmental Science students are taking readings from their Ecosystem Monitoring Lab. Each lab group set up two ecosystems that include fish, aquatic plants, snails, and other components. The experimental ecosystem included a variable that the students monitor over a period of several weeks using dissolved oxygen and temperature probes, pH readings, measurements of turbidity using the spectrophotometer, and other methods. Student experiments include the monitoring the effects of discarded cell phones, light sources and photoperiods, acidic and basic compounds, and different types of aquatic vegetation on the ecosystems.
