Hungarian Teachers Visit Franklin

Hungarian Teachers

Ben Franklin’s social studies classes hosted two teachers from Hungary who are a part of the International Visitor Leadership Program of the U.S. State Department. The teachers, Ms. Dora Barta and Ms. Judith Bertalan, are on a trip across America visiting a variety of cities, schools, government agencies and businesses. Ms. Barta and Ms. Bartalan spoke to Mr. Parauka’s geography classes and gave them a cultural lesson on Hungary. His students were able to ask questions about what schools in Hungary were like and what life was like for Hungarian teenagers. During lunch the Hungarian teachers were able to meet Franklin faculty and were taken on a tour of the school by the school principal, Dr. Rusnak. Both Ms. Barta and Ms. Bertalan were impressed with the analytical questions the students asked. Franklin has participated in the State Department Program for several years.
