National Honor Society Works with Second HarvestOn November 24, 13 members of Ben Franklin’s National Honor Society spent part of their Thanksgiving break volunteering with Second Harvest Food Bank. Joining them were students from other area schools. Many of the students helped divide donated cans into categorized groups such as fruits, vegetables and condiments. The cans were then packed into specific boxes and labeled accordingly. Other members constructed boxes and stacked the completed ones onto crates. Through teamwork and determination, the NHS helped pack an incredible 7000 cans! Thanks to everyone who gave up their time to help those in need. This project is just one of many NHS volunteer opportunities planned throughout the year. If you'd like to get involved, contact David Phelps.
