Franklin Community Shares Mardi Gras with Troops
Franklin students, faculty, staff and parents donated Mardi Gras items and Louisiana food items to send to American troops from Belle Chasse and Algiers who are serving in Afghanistan. The eight boxes were filled with New Orleans coffee, jambalaya, red beans, rice, king cake mix spices and Zapp's potato chips to bring a little Mardi Gras spirit to our troops. The packages also included masks, costumes and beads so the troops could bring the tradition of Mardi Gras parades to troops from throughout the United States that they are serving with. The Franklin Key Club coordinated the collection and shipping of the boxes. Thanks for all your donations! |
